Is the Central Valley of California technically “the fruited plain”? Not exactly sure. It has been called “the land of fruit and nuts”. Take that anyway you would like. As the California artist daughter of a farmer, I take it in a literal sense.
The business of art requires thought and planning. If a place with a changing clientele sells a particular subject on a consistent basis, it is common sense to paint more of the same.
Here is a peek into the painting workshop. It’s kinda fruity in there.
The smalls are for Colors in Three Rivers. I’ll tell you about the larger painting of the persimmon tomorrow.
Do you think it is weird to paint the same stuff over and over again?

Heehee, Diana, that’s funny! Sometimes I do repaint an existing canvas, improving or covering over a not-so-good piece. But you are right – I meant repainting the same subjects in this post!
Painting the “same stuff” over and over again is a good way to learn, and grow, and get better painting that stuff.
(I realize you probably don’t mean painting the exact same painting over and over, although there could be merit in doing this.)
Jennifer, I wonder if it is better to be a fruit or a nut. . .
Hope you got some good stuff from Vistaprint. My latest order just arrived and on the free notepad, there is an “f” in the middle of the page! Guess the sample type needed to be removed (and glad it is just a notepad!)
Cabinart/Jana,
Hello fruity girl. 🙂
I agree. I get my stuff from them too, but at your reminder, I stopped by their site and picked up some of their recent free stuff.
