Another Bridge Day

This represents a typical day at the easels for me, working on a few paintings, hanging out with my cats, taking a break to go see the river from the Dinely Bridge which crosses the middle fork of the Kaweah River here in Three Rivers.

I tightened up some details and began working on the Oak Grove bridge on the 6×18″ painting.
Then I switched to the other Oak Grove bridge painting.
Scout may be contemplating impending motherhood. Look at the pretty orange stripe that runs down from her eye. It will be fun to see what her babies look like.

Downstream view. I love this kind of lighting – dark sky, bright sun, clarity.
This is a memorial bouquet which gets changed regularly on the Dinely Bridge: flowering quince, daffodils and rosemary approximate the three primary colors.

  1. Love the bridge paintings more than anything. I think your comment -architecture and scenery is spot on!!!

    • Thanks, Sally! Nice to hear from you, and I’ll keep painting that bridge.

  2. Please consider “fixing” both Tucker and Scout. There are already too many rejected pets waiting in shelters who, most likely, will be killed because there aren’t enough “furever” homes available. If finances are an issue, let me know and I will help. Please!

    • Thank you, Sharon, for your sweet offer. Tucker got “fixed” immediately; it is now too late for Scout, but we will get her fixed after this litter. All of our cats have come from folks who have found and rescued the homeless, not from shelters. Introducing cats from outside sources has not been successful for us, so we plan on keeping all these kittens (unless someone really really wants one) and getting them “fixed”.

      • Thank you for your kind response. I’m glad to hear of your plans. My heart is heavy for so many abandoned pets, I try and do everything I can to “empty the shelters,” as they say. I wish I could take them all, but at least all of my cats have been off-the-street or out-of-shelter rescues. Good for us!
