A Little Help From My Friend

While I was photographing some paintings, Perkins decided to get in on the action. This isn’t his best side, but I thought you might enjoy this:

The painting is titled Pumpkin V (I know, not very original!). It is 6×6″ on wrapped canvas and retails for $40.  “Retails”? Good grief! What I mean is that is the price. (BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE! ORDER NOW AND RECEIVE. . .)

SOLD!

1st Saturday

November 7 is another 1st Saturday in Three Rivers. Here is the map and the flyer of those businesses participating. I will be working at The Art Co-op that day, and we will be featuring clay artist Marn Reich. Here is a sample of her work:  http://www.threeriversartstudiotour.com/artists/reich/reich.htmlYou can learn more about 1st Saturday here: http://www.1stsaturdaytr.com/Okay, I have removed the map and flyer because it was too big, took to long to load, and is now expired! Next time I will try to make it smaller!

This is just a little reminder that you can buy my paintings on my website https://www.cabinart.net/oils_new.shtml (In case you were wondering. . .) I have added 3 that you probably have seen on this blog; now they are on the website.

I said “Yes!”

img_2149.JPG Isn’t this a spiffy easel? It is so simple and functional. My friend John’s Mom was a painter. She has passed on, and John has passed her supplies on to me! Thank you John and Elaine!  Okay, I am dancing around the subject of this posting. . . as you can see, I said YES to something completely different than my usual subject matter. Life is full of adventures!

Orange Season

Here: look at some paintings of oranges and other produce while I crawl off somewhere to turn 50 in private. Some are finished (except for the signature, varnish and official photography) and some are only just begun. Bet you can tell the difference!

(Note to Deanne: there are some new items on the shelves but I cropped most of that off the photo. Hope you don’t hurt yourself with all that suspense!)

Autumn is arriving soon!

It must be autumn because I am painting leaves! (Gingko, Persimmon, Black Oak)

Will Autumn ever arrive?

We had the coolest most pleasant June ever, and I kept thinking we would pay for it in September. We are. It is still hot hot hot. September 21 is usually the first day of Autumn but the thermometer is clueless. In Mineral King over the weekend I was seeking signs of Autumn. The squirrels and chipmunks are very very busy, and some leaves are turning. These are willows in bright yellow.img_1925.JPGMeanwhile, the aspens are as oblivious to the change of season as is the thermometer, but the light has a different quality to it.img_1922.JPGIt’s the tall dry grasses that really tell me the season in Mineral King.tall-dry-grasses.JPG

Painting again

This is titled Late Summer, Early Morning. It was so beautiful out one morning that I was actually willing to stop power walking briefly to take a non-blurry photo or six to paint from! It isn’t yet on my website because, well because. Everyone’s busy. Including you. Thanks for looking at my blog in your busy-ness!early-summer.jpgIn case you are wondering, those are not olive trees in the mid-ground. They are oaks. However, if calling them olive trees sells the painting, they can be olive trees. 😎
