6×6″, oil on wrapped canvas, $50
Farewell Gap is an unusually symmetrical mountain pass. The elevation is somewhere in the 10,000′ range, and the trail to get there is 6-1/2 miles long, very well graded, with fabulous flowers. I love that hike. (Never mind. Stupid plantar fasciitis.)
This year I am lollygagging about the cabin, enjoying the views from the valley. This is one of the best. This one sold, but I can paint it again. Happily! Love this view.

Aww, thanks, Wanda! Hard to go wrong with such gorgeous subject matter!
What a neat idea to post a painting every day — especially when mountains are involved. Just got back last weekend from a week in Colorado. Love, love, love the mountains. Kind of hard to return to the flatlands after spending a week surrounded by such beauty — and cool air! Such a welcome change from the 100+ temps we’ve been having in the Heartland for the last several weeks.
Duane Keiser is the “father” of the daily painting movement. He took it and ran! And I’d love to see the mountains of Colorado – so glad you got to spend some time there. Coming home is always bittersweet, but the memories carry one for a little while. Missed reading your blog while you were away, Cheryl!
