These paintings sold through the Silver City Store* over the summer. Most were 6×6″; a few were 8×8″, 8×10″, and 10×10″. (It is probable that I was slightly careless in my record keeping, because all of these are square – where is that 8×10″??)
It is possible I could have sold more, if I had stayed home and painted instead of being out on the trails, chasing down wildflower names.
Choices and consequences.

Beautiful, as usual!!! Leah
Thank you, Leah! Now when you drive by my house, you can pull into the driveway and see the new studio door mural, based on a couple of the paintings that sold.
All are quite lovely, especially that one of Sawtooth. Oh wait, it’s sitting on my living room mantle! 🙂
Judging from your sales and your posts, it looks like you balanced trail-ing and painting quite well. But I suppose you can do more painting “off-season” using photographs, right? Good indoor activity during chilly weather!
Sharon, I did balance the 2 aspects fairly well; the guessing of which subjects will sell is the tripping point. And, I never feel like painting summer scenes in the winter, or cranking out the same subjects over and over and over. So, when I don’t feel like it, it helps to have a plan to follow. Yes, I do paint indoors from photos. Always. Studio artists go outside to see places and get photos, not to paint while bugs bite us, the light changes and people keep staring while we work.
Ha Ha, yes, that makes sense. People not only staring, but asking endless questions, right? Oh, and gnats ending up in the paint . . . I can only imagine the challenges!
