One Last Glimpse of February

You may recall that February is my (first) favorite month. It was a little difficult to stay focused on painting when just outside the studio there were all these daffodils. I took a break on February 25 to photograph all the various groups around the yard, both for your pleasure and for mine.

Good news is that deer don’t eat daffodils; bad news is that they have a very short season (which is why I have to roam around the yard while they are blooming in spite of having a pile of paintings to finish.)

Can you spot the baby poppies in the foreground?
Baby poppies!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I went back to the easels that afternoon. Thank you for your concern. I will show you tomorrow.

  1. I’m enjoying my daffodils in the yard also. I have some double flowers that are top heavy but gorgeous! I decided to pick some today and bring them indoors so they won’t plant their little faces in the mud during the rain tomorrow. Yay rain!!

    • Nikki, those weather guessers continue to overadvertise and underdeliver on rain!

  2. Oh so beautiful, I enjoyed all the pictures, Thank you!

    • Virginia, you are most welcome. It is a pleasure to share beauty with folks who appreciate it too.

  3. This reminds me of my grandmother and her beloved daffodils that popped up in front of our cabin, albeit a bit later than in the lower elevations. I never saw them in person, but special friends would take photos during visits in May.

    • Sharon, I believe that I am one of those “special friends”. 😎

      • Why, yes, you are! <3
