You all helped me select the graphite portrayal of several barns with a tractor. Thanks! Now I am requesting your input again. Will you help me name it?
Titles definitely matter – think of last year’s First Place winner in the Farm Equipment category. What if it had been called “Tractor Tire” instead of “Size Matters”? (I shudder to think of it)
So here are my top two choices:
1. Character Counts
2. Built to Last
Perhaps you have a better suggestion – I am open to hear it!

Okay,I get it now.Thank you ,Jana.
Hi Jana: I thought of “Country Garage”, but since that’s little help picking between the 2 names, I think I would pick a masculine-sounding name, since “Size Counts” was a winner last year…….
Hi April,
My email isn’t letting me send right now, so I am replying to you here on the blog. A few years ago, there was a national program called “Character Counts”. It was used to teach good character traits to school children – things like honesty, responsibility, and hard work. The word “character” also refers to the patina that happens as things age. So, because the barns have age and that makes them look interesting, I am borrowing the phrase “Character Counts”!
Character Counts, it’s better than “Built to Last”
Though I don’t understand it clearly.
I like Built to Last…I was thinking “Home”
Definitely: “Character Counts.” Even though I’m in the minority here. 🙂
Built to Last -something we want to see happen with our farming communities!
Have a great weekend….glad to see I’m not the only one who loves kitties.

Of the two choices, I like “Built to Last.” I was thinking of the tractor coming home and being parked at the barn after a hard day’s work, and the words “Home Sweet Home” came to me. It’s a beautiful drawing, no matter what you title it!
Of the two, I’d also pick “Built to Last”. I had Peter come look at it, and we were thinking everything in the picture is so well used, well worn, weathered, seasoned by years of use and just getting better and more beautiful over time, like a patina, like your favorite cooking pot, so he said “Well seasoned”. Frankly, I think his idea sounds like something I would cook up for dinner :-)) But I’m sending these ideas to you, just in case they turn a light bulb on :-)) The basic concepts he and I kept coming up with were timeless classic designs, well built, lovingly used and maintained, just getting better and more beautiful over time… maybe just the word “timeless”??
I think “Built To Last” is better but I will give some thought to perhaps another choice…..
Built to Last
