I love that trail up to Timber Gap . . . except it’s a bit steep at places. And no fun when the sun is beating down on you in mid-day. But the views are spectacular (as the late, great Huell Howser would say)! And the spring flowers must be quite in abundance this year. I hope there are some left in August!
Sharon, the bottom half-mile of Timber Gap trail is a challenge with its southern exposure, dust and steepness. A few years ago, a trail crew reworked parts of it so the steps near the parking lot aren’t giraffe-sized anymore.
Excellent! That’s good to know. It’s been a few years since I’ve done that climb so I’m glad to hear they improved it!
