This month I am spending a large chunk of time just goofing off instead of working. This means I don’t have much to post about in terms of my art business. But, does anyone care? And is it necessary to post five days a week, as is my habit? It isn’t Friday, and yet I’m going on and on about Mineral King. Again, I ask “does anyone care”?
I do. I care. Been doing this blog for over ten years, five days a week, and not gonna stop now. Nope. Not.
It’s OK to take a vacation, even when you’re an artist. You just say “see you in 2 weeks,” you relax and have fun, everyone else does what they usually do and voila! Only you know how wonderful it was. Try it, honey.
I love this one, Jana. It totally captures the eclectic delights of a true vacation; time off to gather into our being the small but most meaningful moments of what life truly is!
I love that you post – even on your off days! I love the pictures of daily life in Mineral King. So thank you.
Mike and I have been running walking the hill in back of us. We have this crazy idea of climbing Mt Whitney—from the Mineral King side —- !!! Mike has done it twice, but I reminded him, he was in his twenties. But it’s a goal for us. I need to do a trial 4-5 day back pack first!
Anne, that is a mighty large goal and I am impressed by your commitment to exercise. A friend of mine climbed Whitney a few weeks ago on a DAY HIKE! It was a 14 hour day, which holds zero appeal for this little gray duck.
I care! I care! I always read your blog, every day you post it. I just don’t respond each time. Hope you don’t mind.
And yes, Mineral King neighbors are the greatest! Our neighbors to the west were especially grateful to my grandfather who, somehow, figured out how to light a propane refrigerator. Every time!
A radio that works! Amazing. As it is, all I have is my iPhone which magically turns into an iPod/camera unit during visits to Mineral King. Do you know of a good portable solar charger that actually works?
Sharon, there are a ton of portable solar chargers, and a ton of non solar chargers that hold power in some sort of battery thing for many hours. The problem is that there are a TON, and I don’t have the slightest idea how to choose.
And blessings on you for reading my blog and extra blessings for when you comment, because you are a blessing to me.
Thank you, Anonymous. I changed the setting on the commenting gizmo and now you don’t actually have to enter your name so if you don’t, you will appear as Anonymous and I will try to guess who you are.

Aw shucks, thank you Joyce!
On today’s 6:02 AM (??) post are some wonderful pics to paint — at least in my mind’s eye.
Dawn, how nice to hear from you! And you may paint from my photos any time.

Thank you, Louise! This post is definitely eclectic, but unified in that it is all in Mineral King where no one is looking at his phone.

Welp, the non-existing “Remember Me” button didn’t help. I still have to fill in my credentials every time. But it could be a setting on my end.
And yeah, there are a TON of solar chargers. And every blasted one of them has a bunch of raving 5/5 star AND vitriolic 1/5 star ratings. #NotHelpful
And you are a blessing to me! <3
I care. I love reading about and seeing pictures of mineral king!
