Weird

First, I want to share something with you.

I am a spelling nut. Typos jump out and slap me between the eyes. (My own don’t – it is a fact that proofreading one’s own work is nearly impossible.) It sometimes feels as if I might have a form of Tourette’s Syndrome, except that I shout “TYPO!” in inappropriate settings instead of swearing.

Come to think of it, “typo” IS  four letter word.

I’ve never forgotten the spelling rule “I before E except after C”.

Weird.

Think about that for a bit. I saw it as a pin on Pinterest. Might have been on a tee shirt:

I before E except after C.

Weird.

Now that I’ve shared that little oddment, I can’t remember what I was going to say.

I’m on schedule for the pencil drawings of The Cabins of Wilsonia. Here is a cabin drawing.

You can read more about the project at my other blog, The Cabins of Wilsonia.

  1. Jana/cabinart,

I’m so tempted to make a typo on purpose now…. 🙂

Re your comment on my post “Helping Teens See Themselves,” have you tried that drawing trick too? That would be interesting as an artist, I bet. Do you like to do faces? I see more landscapes and still-lifes (lifes? why not lives?)on your site.

How are you? I miss talking to you.

    • Jennifer, I correct typos in the comments before I approve them! Really, I do that!

I only do portraiture under duress. It is the HARDEST thing to capture a likeness. Thanks for the blog post idea. I will address this, link to your blog, link to the Dove site, and who knows what else might happen on that post.

  2. Love the tree on this pencil drawing, Jana. What a perfect touch!

    • Cheryl, that tree is what caused me to choose this view of this cabin. Without that little touch of whimsical decor, the cabin looks like so many of the others.
