The opening reception to my solo show, “Images of Home” at Exeter’s Courthouse Gallery was amazingly well attended. No one was counting, but I think there were at least 100 people, and everyone did NOT come at once. It was most totally excellent!
This is the first thing you see when you step into the entryway.
This is what you see when you step into the gallery.
Here is a comfortable corner for contemplation.
These three pencil drawings of Mineral King look just right on this wall. (How would they look all together on a wall in your home?)
Sold!
These are still available.
This child was too cute to not photograph. (Her mom gave permission).
There were a few opportunities to photograph people in the gallery, but that wasn’t my real mission.

Yeppers, you read that right. I have to order some canvases, and then get painting. If someone expressed disappointment at having missed out on a painting, I simply said, “I can paint it again for you”. (Do other artists do this??)

What a great exhibit! So happy for you and to see all your beautiful work displayed for all to see. Congratulations!!! My small collection of your paintings has room for more and when I know I will be in CA again, I will request that you might have something specific for purchase.
Anytime, Jess, just let me know what you want and what size, and it shall be painted for you.
Wow, congratulations on such a good turnout and so many sales! That is so good of you to paint the same scenes for other buyers. Other artists don’t do that in my experience. One local artist here painted a scene I really liked that was in a museum exhibit, and it was purchased the same day as the show opened. I didn’t get there until a few days later, and asked her if she would paint it again for me, and she said she doesn’t paint the same scene twice. I think it is very smart of you to paint what the customer wants.
Marjie, thank you for that confirmation. It seems like an odd thing for an artist to repaint, UNLESS the artist just wants to please the customer. Well, duh, how else can an artist stay in business?? But many artists don’t view their profession as a business. (Wish I could see what you wanted from that other artist and then repaint it for you)!
SUCCESS!!
May it continue all the way through the closing date of . . . . sometime in 2022?
Sharon, the best I could get for a closing date was “some time in January”. Goofy, eh?
That’s awesome news! I am so happy for you. Continued success…….just when is your down time….a quick minute between Christmas and New Years? I hope you have a chance to have some peace and quiet this holiday season. You can repeat old blogs—-we won’t notice! Ha
Anne, I laughed aloud when THE VERY FIRST PAINTING THAT SOLD WAS THE ONE YOU EXPRESSED AN INTEREST IN! And then it sold three more times! Good eye, my friend.
