Wildflowers in Three Rivers

The hill behind my house has a wide variety of wildflowers each spring.

The steepness makes it hard to photograph. Or, perhaps it is the lack of skill on the part of the photographer. I miss my manual cameras. Digital cameras have many advantages, but all this automatic baloney is a real hassle. Guess that is life – the more advantages, the more disadvantages too. But I digress. Let’s just enjoy the wildflowers, shall we?

  1. Our artist God is so creative and delicate in his work, isn’t he? 🙂 Lovely.

Re your drawings start to finish in the post arrear: fun to see the sequence, and I liked the final angle with the tree row in the middle of the drawing.

Re your painting post further back…. neat! Oh, the dual trees with the rugged bark and especially the light source shining in between is my favorite of that set. Fabulous trees and lighting!

    • Jennifer, thank you for sharing my appreciation of God’s art. About the walnut grove, they chose that view because of the hedge running alongside the grove, which means something to the recipient of the drawing. In the painting of trees that you admire, those are Redwoods, AKA Big Trees, real name Sequoia Gigantea. Hard to believe such incredible beauty is less than an hour from home for me! It helps to balance the yucky parts of living in Central California.

    • Leah, when/if Baby Blue Eyes show up on that hill, my wildflower joy will be complete.

  2. Beautiful! I live in Southern California and it is worth the drive to Three Rivers just to see the wild flowers. Love this season!

    • Linda, spring is so unbelievably beautiful, especially after a good wet winter! I think all the normal brown and dry causes a heightened appreciation for the green time of year.
